Founded in 1985, the Association of French Schools in North America (AFSA) is a membership organization of 50+ primary and secondary schools in the United States and Canada that are accredited by the French Ministry of Education. A nonprofit, nonpolitical association, AFSA supports heads of school through professional development, resource sharing, and best practices in governance.
The French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest (FACC-PNW) is a binational, nonprofit organization based in Seattle, dedicated to strengthening economic and cultural ties between the United States and France. With a bicultural team and a Board of Directors representing diverse sectors, the FACC supports trade and business projects in the PNW (Washington, Oregon, Idaho) and France. Members include leading French companies in the region, American corporations, and individuals passionate about fostering Franco-American relations.
The Mission laïque française (Mlf), founded in 1902, is a nonprofit organization that establishes and manages French schools worldwide. It oversees 108 schools in 32 countries. Partnered with the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs and National Education, the Mlf aligns with France’s foreign policy and ensures compliance with French educational standards. With a 99.3% exam success rate, the Mlf promotes educational excellence and intercultural exchange, fostering a unique blend of French and local cultures.
The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) is a nonprofit membership organization serving over 2,000 schools and school associations across the United States and abroad. NAIS supports independent school leaders—including heads of school, administrators, trustees, and faculty—by providing data, research, resources, and professional development opportunities. These tools empower leaders to excel in their roles and, in turn, create environments where students can thrive.
The Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) is a nonprofit membership association that provides accreditation, professional development, and support services to over 110 elementary, middle, and secondary independent schools in Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
The Puget Sound Independent Schools (PSIS) is an admissions collaborative that promotes the value of local independent school education. It works collaboratively to make the admissions process more accessible for prospective families.
The Washington Federation of Independent Schools (WFIS) was founded in 1970 and represents over 260 private, independent schools in Washington, including religious, nonsectarian, accredited, and non-accredited institutions. It unites educators, state leaders, and legislators to advocate for private school independence. WFIS fosters collaboration, halts harmful legislation, and promotes supportive policies while offering professional development opportunities for diverse school staff, ensuring private schools continue to positively impact communities and students.

The French American School of Puget Sound does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, religion, or sexual orientation in the administration of its educational policies, financial aid programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs. This policy applies to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities, including applications and admissions, generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
