Middle School Class Trips & Retreats
Each class engages in a week-long retreat in September. These retreats have included rope courses, rock climbing, scavenger hunts, sailing, and other teambuilding and community-service activities. Through these experiences, students develop the skills necessary to form supportive communities, set and achieve realistic goals, build collaboration, and develop problem-solving strategies.
In addition, each class takes an overnight trip in the spring supporting the goals of the program. Grade 6 students participate in a STEM trip to visit NASA at Cape Canaveral in Florida, Grade 7 students visit France to immerse themselves more fully in French culture and history, and Grade 8 Students visit China or Costa Rica depending on which additional language they choose to study.
These programs reinforce our classroom curriculum and build confidence and independence in our students.
